The Local Blend opened in 2006 in an historic building that had held a multitude of businesses since its construction. We took the space left by a previous coffee house and made it our own. From the start our mission was to feature as many homemade, organic, and locally-sourced products as we could. The wood in our booths is from local trees, the pottery we serve our food on and in was created by local artists, our honey is produced by local bees, and even our coffee is locally roasted.

Our in-house bakery and kitchen produces our muffins, scones, cakes, pizza crusts, soups, stews and more!

Eventually we were able to remodel, and we added a stage where local and traveling musicians perform on select nights. Finally, we were able to procure the appropriate licensing to add wine and beer to our already impressive menu.

The Local Blend's reputation has grown, and word has spread wide about this great little coffee shop in St. Joseph, MN.

For several years running we have been voted first prize for Best Coffeehouse in the Best Of Central Minnesota St. Cloud Times Readers Poll, and we've also taken prizes in the Best Place To Buy Local Music, Best Under 21 Venue, and Best Music Festival/Series categories.
